Terms and Conditions


Exchange or Return of Tickets

Tickets that have been paid for cannot be refunded or returned. Changes in the cast or the programme do not entitle holders to return or exchange tickets.


Cancellation or Transfer of a Performance Conditions

Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour is an open-air event. The venue and the stage are completely uncovered. The special nature of this event will be appreciated by visitors from all over the world who understand that there is a certain risk of bad weather. Opera Australia is therefore committed to going ahead with a performance of Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour even in doubtful weather conditions.

Visitors are advised that it may rain during the performance. The performance will proceed if there are light, intermittent showers. We therefore recommend that guests bring warm and rainproof clothing, however in the case of wet weather all patrons will be given a free poncho. Please note that although umbrellas can be brought to the site, out of consideration for other members of the audience they cannot be used during the performance.

In the case of extreme weather, Carmen may be delayed by up to 50 minutes at any point throughout the performance.

The performance will only be cancelled if the weather poses a threat to the safety of performers or the audience. Cancellation will occur in the event of heavy rain and/or strong winds as Opera Australia acknowledges that the comfort and safety of the audience and its performers are paramount.

If a performance is cancelled or plays for less than 50% of the total performance running time the ticket holder shall have the ticket price refunded in full or can exchange the ticket for a subsequent performance. Customers should contact the organisation from whom they purchased their tickets (i.e. Opera Australia / Ticketmaster) to organise an exchange or refund.

Auxiliary expenses including travel, accommodation or hospitality which you have arranged in conjunction with the performance are at your own risk and not refundable by Opera Australia.


Food and Beverages Booked and Purchased in Advance

Food and beverages which are booked and paid for in advance (including pre-performance, interval and post-performance hospitality) are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

By purchasing food and beverages in advance, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over.

Food and beverages booked and purchased in advance must be claimed on the performance date stated on the voucher.

All advance orders of food and beverages will be available on the evening of the performance for which they were booked regardless of whether or not the actual performance is subsequently cancelled or abandoned as the result of bad weather.


Admission

A ticket is valid only when purchased from Opera Australia or an authorised agent.

The right of admission is reserved and Opera Australia reserves the right to inspect bags of patrons who enter or exit the venue regardless of size.

Each individual entering the venue must have a valid ticket regardless of age. Babes in arms are not permitted.

Persons aged under 15 years must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

There are no concessions for this event.

Patrons who disrupt a performance may be ejected from the venue.

Patrons wishes to bring personal items into the venue, do so at their own risk. Opera Australia will not take responsibility for any items which are lost or damaged on the site.


Late Arrivals

Patrons arriving late will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. If a suitable break prior to interval is identified, latecomers may not be seated in their ticketed seats, rather in an area adjacent to an entrance, where minimal disruption will be caused to seated attendees. This is at the discretion of venue staff. Ticket refunds or exchanges are not available on the basis of late arrival.

Privacy Policy

Opera Australia's Privacy Policy applies to tickets sold by Opera Australia for Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour.


Use of Electronic Devices

Use of cameras and other recording devices during the performance is prohibited.

Mobile telephones, tablets, pagers and so forth must be turned off before the performance commences.


Right to Record or Broadcast

Opera Australia reserves the right to record, broadcast, simulcast and photograph any performances and the venue which may include staff and the audience.
